Jamie Get's to the final
28.03.2011On Tuesday 15 March, Jamie Barr (Year 9) officiated at the North West Carnegie Champion Schools final at Broughton Park Stadium, Manchester.
Jamie has been officiating at Rugby League for nearly 18 months, he was nominated for the North West Carnegie Champion Schools finals because of the way he has progressed in his development as a junior referee. If successful Jamie could be chosen as one of seven junior officials from all over the country who officiate at Wembley in the warm up game to the Carnegie Grand Final in August. Recently, he was one of the touch judges at the St Helens Schools finals for the Year 7 held at Thatto Heath and also Year 9 finals held at Liverpool St Helens.
These are not the first finals Jamie has been involved in about 6 months after officiating he was chosen to touch judge at the North West Counties Junior finals held at Fylde Rugby Club near Blackpool He can officiate any non-professional game up to the age group at which he would play that is to say Jamie is in Year 9 under 14's, so the highest level at the moment Jamie can referee is under 14's. -
