Record Results

20.09.2010

Many congratulations to last year’s Year 11 pupils who performed so excellently at GCSE in the summer. I am pleased to report that we recorded our highest ever set of exam results. The percentage of students achieving 5A*-C grades rose 26% to a record high of 78%, and the percentage of students achieving 5A*-C grades including English and Maths rose 19% to another record high of 50%. These figures duly saw the college identified as the most significantly improved school in the borough.

As a direct result of these excellent GCSE results, for this academic year we now have our largest ever Year 12 cohort.  The performance of Year 13 students last summer also saw the college perform strongly. For the second year in a row we saw an increase in the average point score per entry, whilst aiding to a significant rise in the overall percentage pass rate of A-Level students; now up to 94%.

Students and Staff worked rigorously across the course of last year enabling the college to achieve this set of outstanding results. All parties involved should be congratulated and take pride, whilst celebrating in the success.

Well done to all!
