SAS Day
08.10.2010The Sutton Academy was proud to host the St Helens SAS Day
(Senior Activities Showcase).
The event which was led by our Year 10 Sports Leaders offered a wide range of activities to over 50s including Badminton, Tai Chi, Aikido, Target Golf, Boccia, indoor rowing and curling. Our leaders also played in a wheelchair rugby demonstration.
The event was attended by around seventy over 50s and was visited by the Mayor. "My favourite was the wheelchair rugby, it was really aggressive" Toni Swift (10MBA). "The people who came were really sweet and enjoyed themselves" The kindness and enthusiasm of our pupils was commented on by many including the events organiser
"I was highly impressed by the way the Sports Leader volunteers worked throughout the day, and how they all conducted themselves in a positive, mature and respectful manner" Michaylo Fedyk, Sports Development Officer.
