Students visit the Capital
15.12.2011On Friday the 2nd December, 9 A-level English Literature and Language students, (Micheala Burke, Rachel Campbell, Amy Cartledge, Lauren Grundy, Amber Otto, Aimee Plumbley, Sarah Sanderson, Nicola Toole and Sophia Yearsley) accompanied Mrs
Strettle and Miss Maunder on a trip to London, to take in the sights and sounds of the capital.
Students enjoyed some festive fun soaking in atmosphere of Covent Garden on the Friday afternoon and then a trip to the theatre that
evening to watch the play ‘Broken Glass’ which the students are studying for their AS Literature exam.
After a restful night at the youth hostel in London’s fashionable Paddington, Shakespeare’s famous Globe theatre was top of the list to visit on their final day in London. Enjoying a guided tour gave the students a real insight into the staging of Shakespeare’s plays which will help towards their Literature studies in Year 13.
Overall students and staff had a wonderful time in the capital and can’t wait to go again!
