Students visit to Grand Designs Live

Grand Designs Live was a perfect show for the Year 10 students to gain some inspiration. Students who are starting their GCSE coursework were treated to creative and contemporary work in interiors, furniture, gardens, sustainability and technology. They had the chance to mix with some of the UK and Europe’s most brilliant and diversely talented individuals from traditional craftsmen to internationally recognised architects.

The students from the academy confidently interacted with exhibitors and discussed with individual designers how things were conceived and created. One exhibitor commented how interested, polite and well mannered our students were and that they were a credit to the academy.

The show provided students with plenty of amazing ideas that will hopefully inspire them to recreate what they have seen for their respective Design & Technology coursework. - Mr Glover
