On Tuesday 19 October, three Year 9 students set out to take part in the Big Debate at the Town Hall.
They were split into three groups working with other Year 9 students from local schools. Each group came up with an idea to improve facilities in St Helens for young people. The three ideas were all fantastic, which included a super park, a winter park and an advertising campaign for local events.
After lunch the three ideas were debated with questions and comebacks flying around the council chamber. The standard of debating was excellent. After voting at a real polling station the super park won! The Mayor promised to take and use the ideas to improve St Helens.
