World Challenge 2011

11.11.2010

The 18th July 2011. This is a big day for The Sutton Academy. On this day 10 students will be travelling to Ghana to help pupils build a new classroom for a local school.

Whilst there they will also be teaching the local community English. In Ghana they will staying with the local community in order to get a real feel for the country and to learn how the population of Ghana live on a day to day basis. The expedition is totally funded through the students fundraising. Each student has to raise a large sum of money in order to be able to go on the expedition. This, as you can imagine, will be a once in a life time opportunity for everyone involved. They will be able to make a real difference to the lives of children in Ghana whilst getting first hand experience of a different culture and way of life.

Over the next few months there will be a lot of different fundraising activities going on within the academy as well as outside. We hope you will be able to join in some of these activities, or maybe even win a great prize! Up to now we have managed to gain support from many different companies as well as individuals. Although we are still looking for more help to get the students to their targets needed!
