Year 10 7-a-side
04.02.2011The Year 10 football squad assembled for the annual 7-a-side tournament held at Sutton.
Anticipation was high as the rumour of Rainhill’s non-appearance turned out to be true. Six games was all that stood between Sutton and possible glory.
St Aelred's were the first opposition, with Sutton victorious with a 1-0 win, courtesy of a goal from Josh Hurst. A hard fought goal-less draw with Haydock followed. St Augustine’s were the next opponents and the Sutton machine marched on with a 2-1 win, a special mention goes to Dylan Donoghue who went from hero to villain, then back to hero during the game. Two goal-less draws against De La Salle and Rainford closely followed.
Cowley were Sutton’s final opponents and a goal from the brilliant white pumps of Jack Bennett meant that Sutton ended the tournament in the mix for possible qualification for the Merseyside Schools Final. The email to confirm this is eagerly anticipated.
Well done lads!!
Training takes place Thursdays at 2:50 pm
All welcome.
