Year 10 Rugby League
23.09.2010St Augustines 22-32 Sutton
With the journey still in the legs of Sutton they quickly conceded to the home side and found themselves 6-0 down. Sutton responded well when Jake Griffiths marked his debut with a powerful try. The second came from a typically unstoppable Andy Clare (10MBA) run! The first half finished off with tries from Callum Cresser (10GRO) whose speed and footwork bamboozled the defence and Bradley Rylance (10KBM) who preferred to run straight over the opposition. Captain Liam Knowles (10JAY) hit a perfect line to begin the scoring in the second half. Pressure from a repeat set saw Bradley Rylance power over for his second try of the game. The last try came from the quick play of Liam Hogan (10JWE) with Conor Green (10AWA) to complete the scoring in the corner.
The Year 10 team now qualify for the second round of the Carnegie
Champion Schools competition where they will play the winners of St
Cuthberts v St Aelred’s.
