Year 6 Transition Days
06.07.2012This week saw us welcome pupils from our local primary schools, on
their transition visit to the academy.
On their first day they were all put in their new tutor groups and took part in a ‘get to know you’ lesson. Then it was time for a tour of the
school and a chance to see all of the exciting building works going on around site. After break it was time for sports and lots of activities for the pupils to take part in. The most popular being football!! (some coaching from Mr Guy certainly helped!)
After lunch it was time for some singing, playing instruments, making cous cous and ICT work all of which everybody seemed to enjoy. There was some very talented singers during the Music lesson who could be potential new members of the academy choir.
The following day was a chance for pupils to sample lots of lessons including: Maths, English, Science, Live 2 Learn, Languages and
Humanities.
On the whole pupils really enjoyed their taster days here at the academy, and we look forward to welcoming them in September.
