Year 7 Rugby League

Our new academy had its first Rugby League win on Wednesday 15th September as the Year 7s romped past Cowley 58 – 0.

The lads produced some excellent attacking rugby despite the wet and windy conditions and the whole team worked tirelessly to prevent Cowley putting any points on the board. Stand off Ben Heyes (7MSE) got the scoring underway with further first half tries coming from Callum Hazzard (7RHR) (2) and a superb long range effort from hooker James Hurst (7STH). Jake Dawson (7JMR) adding 2 goals to give Sutton a 20-0 half time lead. Second half tries came from Jack Stevens (7JMR), Sam Shuker (7RHR), Captain Joe Eccleston (7LPE), James Hurst and Callum Hazzard – who added a last minute touchline conversion to end a great team performance.

Congratulations to everybody on the team for a great start to the year!
