Year 9 Hopefuls
14.01.2011As part of the Aim Higher Programme, 30 Year 9 students visited Liverpool Hope University to see what uni life was all about.
Staff and students from the university lead a workshop called ‘Choices’ which aimed to give students an idea of the decisions they will be making over the next few years about their education. Students were able to chat to current students to get their advice, have a tour of the campus, plan and present their own news broadcast and also choose a workshop to attend in the afternoon.
Students got the opportunity to be criminologists, sculptors and even put their acting skills to the test in a murder mystery drama class! Everyone got a brilliant insight into what life could be like if they went to university so hopefully we’ll have many students heading that way in the future!
Students report:
‘The facilities were amazing. I really loved using the Photo-Fit software to identify criminals!’ Ainsley Wilkinson 9LBI
‘I had a fantastic day and would love to come back again, especially to make more sculptures.’ Becky Tipler 9LBI
