Our specialisms and the curriculum

Specialisms

The Academy’s main specialism is Science.

The Sutton Academy finds innovative and enjoyable ways to integrate scientific learning into every part of the curriculum.  Science also links the Academy’s focus areas of health, life sciences, sports sciences and sport, which help to promote the well being of students and their families.

Enterprise will also be embedded throughout the curriculum of The Sutton Academy and will be supported by the Academy’s business and regeneration partners St Helens Chamber and the Local Authority.

The curriculum

At the Sutton Academy, students experience an innovative curriculum that provides a mixture of skills and competencies, allowing students to succeed in many different contexts. A core aim of the academy is to place students at the centre of their learning and make it active, interesting and fun.

Everyone at the academy will have access to excellent learning facilities and first-class support within a safe and caring environment.
