Super Learning Day

Hawking Community

Group: English & Drama

As part of Super Learning Day, several groups of the Hawking Learning Community took part in a podcasting workshop at the Blue Planet Aquarium. In the spirit of David Attenborough, students explored the fantastic exhibits which included tropical fish, giant stingrays and several species of deadly sharks. Blue Planet Aquarium is home to over 15 different species of sharks including Sand Tiger Sharks. All the Sand Tiger Sharks are over 10 foot in length and have an impressive display of over 250 teeth. Along with the students, Mr Hughes recorded his own podcast, taking a look at the lighter side of the animal kingdom. An excellent time was had by all, with some of the recordings completed by the students to follow. Perhaps we will soon find the next wildlife documentarian within the academy.

Group: History
Learning Objective: Work as a team to produce a group story board on a theme chosen.
What did you learn? '...all about Pompeii'
